Resolutions Ready? 2014 HERE WE COME!
2013 was a year to remember! With luxury with a capital L back in a big way, Salvatore Ferragamo was one celebrated fashion house!
Images of the runways, the campaigns, the parties, and major editorials all helped to elevate the status of this proud symbol of Italian craftsmanship.
So what more can we say about such a special year? Let's take a cue from the hottest magazines in the world and stick with a classic. The January issue of Elle Magazine helps to cleanse the palette of a kaleidoscope of colors and textures we saw in 2013 with a black and white editorial with Ferragamo at the core.
OFF THE SHELVES
In the fashion world there are many trends that are in one season and out the next. However, it's the iconic pieces that maintain relevence from year to year, and decade to decade. Some are luxurious, like a diamond engagement ring, a fur coat, or an exotic handbag. Others are available at many levels or price points and can be bought over and over again, like a pair of jeans, or a crisp white shirt. A white shirt is that rare piece that can be found at all price levels, however if Gossip Girl did one good thing for the Millenial generation - it taught viewers how to appreciate the fine details of even an understated item. The beauty of this stylish staple is that woman of all ages can dress it up, or dress it down. Of course with a luxury house like Ferragamo, a white blouse is sure to be made from the finest cotton or silk, and finished with detailed buttons and design elements. EllE Magazine's STREET CRED story in the January issue features a white Ferragamo blouse and takes it - everywhere! The Little White Shirt as Elle calls it -dressed up with silver collar points, under a dress, complimenting a leather skirt, and many looks in-between. Many designers are featured in the story, and most working back again and again to Ferragamo! That's the type of notoriety that a global fashion house warrants. It's also a sense of stability, as luxury shoppers know no matter what part of the world they are travelling to, a Salvatore Ferragamo boutique is just one call to the concierge away!
Don't be shy to suggest a white blouse, or an equally "simple" item with excitement and pride. A well crafted, crisp white blouse should be a key component for any chic shopper. Worn with biker boots and jeans it's cool, under a finely tailored jacket it's chic - there are an endless number of ways to wear it.
It's worth noting the difference in the white blouses price points featured in the story - a Valentino Cotton blouse - $890.00, a Celine White Cotton Shirt - $1,600.00, a DKNY White Cotton Shirt (NOT made in Italy)- $255.00, & a Salvatore Ferragamo White Cotton Shirt - $280.00. Again, worth noting!
**Also a key selling point for the LWS (Little White Shirt) is that is provides a very appropriate way to be dressed, but still sexy. As one extra opened button can be the difference between an interview and a rendezvous!**
LEGACY OF LUXURY
We often talk about fashion that becomes iconic, and pieces that are coveted. In a world of so many brands, there are just a handful that are collected and saved for years and years. Salvatore Ferragamo is such a brand. A reader from Chicago just emailed me photos of Ferragamo Costume Jewelry bangles that she bought (she thinks to be about 6 or 7) years ago. (Many of you might know better). This woman had the large black lucite bracelet wtih inlaid strasse packed away in the original box and wrapping. A true fashion collector, she had bought three of the same bracelet - knowing it would be a classic for years to come! Not only did she covet and save these CJ bangles, she also saved the original Ferragamo ad that inspired the purchase. Now THAT is a truly passionate fashion shopper. This chic shopper from Chicago is not a fashion unicorn - there are many young ladies out there who graduate from coveteur to collector every season. Ask yourself if you are reaching out to new clients as much as you could be. Remember, "New" doesn't necessarily mean "Younger", and we can never judge a book by it's cover. Many ladies are just discovering the charm of Salvatore Ferragamo every day - never made easier than today with the amazing editorial published around the world.
*Costume Jewelry is a fantastic gift suggestion for something searching for a last minute gift. Season after season there are dynamic and novelty CJ items that can become tomorrows collectibles.
Interior Design Magazine ELLE DECOR agrees and included a Ferragamo bangle in their annual Holiday Gift Guide. The "Modern Art" look and feel of the Annenberg collection is another fantastic way to attract new clients. Clients that are avid readers of Elle Decor for instance might see a different side of the brand they would not have noticed without this wonderful editorial. It could lead from a bracelet purchase, to a shoe, to a handbag, to a whole weekend wardrobe!
I'm wishing all of you a Happy and Healthy Holiday season! Thank You all for sharing your wonderful passion and enthusiasm about this very special fashion house. Let's look forward to an even more exciting New Year in 2014. Have a Stylish Holiday!
