In With the NEW - January 2012
Happy New Year! While we are still celebrating the amazing year that was 2011, 2012 has arrived! Start the year off with a clean slate and be the best at everything you do! There is an extra amount of energy all around us at the start of the new year - take advantage of the momentum. If you work in a boutique that carries the RTW collection, then your goal should be selling one item a week. Don't hesitate to suggest a great pair of trousers, a key blazer, or a sexy jersey top to that fashionable women buying bags or shoes. The boutiques have never had as many great items for the fashion fanatic or the classic collector as they do this year!
OFF THE SHELVES
The fashion world is so exciting because what happens on runways is always a season (at least one!!) ahead of what happens in the real world. January is prime time for the Resort collections. The glamour of the 1930's that inspired the 2012 Resort collection is further proof of Massimiliano's ability to set trends and reinvigorate the archives of Salvatore.
The magazines that the most fashionable women in America have been reading over the holidays are popping with editorials from the Ferragamo Resort collection. Nautical references are timeless and so is menswear tailoring for women. ** The glamorous reference of the early 1900's style are only going to become more relevant over the next year. Baz Luhrmann is directing the remake of The Great Gatsby now in Australia starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan. Shooting is happening as you read this, and the style references will be everywhere. Take advantage of the Ferragamo collection being ahead of the curve. Give your fashion forward clients the heads up on where trends are going. Key Trends: Menswear tailoring, glamorous evening wear, and art deco styled accessories. **
Coincidentally, Ralph Lauren outfitted Robert Redford for the original Great Gatsby film. This catapulted RL to a new level of recognition and fame. Lauren became the classic American menswear designer. Ralph Lauren has just unveiled an Art Deco themed collection for his newly launched fine jewelry. (The stars are all aligning for deco trends).
**Take note of the black bodysuit worn back to the white jacket in the Elle editorial. Remember the fall collection featured silk bodysuits in several looks.**
LEGACY OF LUXURY
If you don't have RTW in your store, go the extra mile when your clients are traveling. Your best customers would love for you to arrange an appointment for them to preview the RTW collection in the city she is visiting. Partner with an associate in that store (plan with your manager) and take her shopping experience to the next level. You will benefit in the long run, as no other boutique back home is giving her this level of customer service.
The accessory collection has one of the most exclusive handbags of the year! The resort show touched on nautical themes - executed in pure luxury. Midnight blue supple suede and silver chain links in varied sizes gives this bag the ability to work any occasion - day or night. With only 5 on order for the U.S. and Priced at $3,900.00 - this bag is more exclusive than any your client might find from another designer boutique. **Don't miss the sexy editorial from C Magazine.**
FERRAGAMO TIME
Keep ringing in the new year with the luxurious legacy of Salvatore Ferragamo's advanced designs. The Ferragamo collection was avant-garde from the moment it was created in the 1920's. These shoes have the glamour of Hollywood and the Savoir Faire of Italian craftsmanship.
These mirrored python wedge sandals will make any woman feel like it is New Year's Eve - every night! These will be the most amazing platforms she will ever see. The metallic reflection of the hand place mirrors wil make an entrance that no one will ever forget. This is the MTO version of Bluebell- priced at $3,600.00 it is one that a lucky few will call their own. The boutiques are on order for two fabulous versions that are just as glamorous, but slightly more attainable. All three versions are living proof ot he timeless design of Salvatore!
Notice the other accessories in this million dollar editorial from Harper's Bazaar. Ralph Lauren's clutch joins the spectacular Ferragamo mirrored wedges. Lauren has launched a serious collection of evening bags and fine jewelry. As we have discussed in the past - Ralph Lauren is a brand to be familiar with. While the core collection is not on the same stage as Ferragamo, international travelers have a significantly high image of RL due to the luanch of fine jewelry and addition of several flagship boutiques around the world.
Happy 2012! Let's make this a year to remember!
