FERRAGAMO THANKSGIVING 2010

OFF THE SHELVES

This November we all have much to be thankful for!  As the economy improves, the Ferragamo Donna & Uomo collections get stronger and stronger.   It's not just those of us close to the company that think so - it's a unanimous reaction of the fashion flock from coast to coast and throughout Europe and Asia!   Massimiliano Giornetti's vision for Ferragamo is a breath of fresh air.   Pleasing to the established Ferragamo client - and alluring to new fashion customers who can't resist all the great editorial in magazine after magazine.

Gowns were a welcome addition to the runway collection for Fall 2010.   Massimiliano's use of lame and lurex made a dynamic finale to the runway show.    One dress in particular keeps getting page after page all over the place!   The Americana Manhasset Holiday Book is one of the most expensive marketing tools produced in the Unites States every year.  Keep in mind, The Americana is home to every luxury brand in the world -CHER IN FERRAGAMO - VANITY FAIR DECEMBER 2010 from HERMES to CHANEL.  The cover is a coveted and prestigious place to be.  FERRAGAMO sparkles with glamour and elegance!   He in his tux and she in that dress!!  The deep color of the silk lurex is flattering to so many different skin tones.   Priced at $4,890.00 the silk lurex gown is also a steal for a red carpet worthy stunner that will be in her closet forever.  Of course a gown like this is not for everyone, but use it to sell another item with lurex.   Show her a great knit dress and mention the gown.  This creates a luxurious moment for our clients to fantasize and live the fantasy while she is spending time at Ferragamo.

Speaking of glamour:  International super-star CHER is back in a big way this holiday season.  Starring on the big screen in BURLESQUE with Christina Aguilera,  Cher is giving style by the mile in this musical blockbuster.   Of course, every media outlet in TV & print is clamouring to get an appearance by this one of kind Oscar & Grammy winning performer.  I caught her on David Letterman Thursday night and she was her typically outspoken self!   Vanity Fair has dedicated the December cover to this style icon.   Of course if Cher is on the cover of Vanity Fair, you know there is going to be MAJOR GOWNS inside.   At the center of the spread is that Lurex FERRAGAMO GOWN!  Stealing the show from the GUCCI monkey fur jacket is the silky rich shimmering creation.  Bravo to the P.R. department for this one!  It's official, Ferragamo RTW has entered a new era.  Watch out 2011!

FERRAGAMO TIME

SHANGHAI SKYLINEIn 1994 Ferragamo opened the brands first  boutique on Mainland China.  Some 16 years later, fashion houses are scrambling to establish a presence in cities all over that continent.   As is so often the case, Ferragamo was a Fashion leader in developing a clientele in Japan, Honk Kong, & Mainland China.   The Mainland represents one of the largest emerging markets will see in our lifetime.   The U.S. has seen and will continue to see a huge influx of tourism from China.   Be prepared to know one city from another, be in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, etc.  Perhaps you can even learn a few words to welcome new clients who WILL be coming to a boutique near you soon.  With almost a 20 year established presence in the country - one of the first stops for visitors to the U.S. will be a Ferragamo boutique!
