The latest musical telling of the French Revolution on the big screen this holiday season is a blockbuster! Victor Hugo's Les Miserables starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried is dazzling. The portrayal of the troubled souls living in a time when so few had anything to be happy about is a powerhouse of emotion. Director Tom Hooper has created a film that is destined to be a classic. Jackman has never had a role so perfect for him in Jean Valjean. Russell Crowe will surprise audiences with his commanding prescence and voice as Javert. Anne Hathaway is a perfect Fantine, and Amanda Seyfried is the angelic Cosette - and she is an angel! Sacha Baron Cohen & Helena Bonham Carter bring the comic relief as the crooked innkeepers Thenardier - Hysterical! The cinematography and costumes are dreamy, and emotions run high. There was not a dry eye in the house at the screening I saw. They will make you cry!
