SPRING CLEANING - A FRENCH WAY!

CHRISTOPHE POURNY - PH: Jason JobsonFrench antique restorer Christophe Pourny has added two new scents to his family of organic furniture care collection.   Cedar and Sandalwood join his bouquet of essential oil infused Tonics of Rosemary, Lavender, and Bergamot.  Pourny says the scented tonics are top sellers, with Lavender CHRISTOPHE POURNY - CEDAR SCENTED FURNITURE TONIC -$16.00leading the bunch (pardon the pun).   Sandalwood and Cedar appeal to musk lovers and those who appreciate the scent of those beautiful woods. Actually, who doesn't love the smell of a cedar closet or of anything Sandalwood!

Mixed in small batches in his DUMBO-Brooklyn studio, the team has shipped Tonics to every state in the U.S. and across Canada via their popular web-store.   Fine home stores like Mecox Gardens, abc Carpet & Home, Hammertown, & Privet House also carry the line.  A string of segments on the Martha Stewart Show in 2010 (4 in 3 seasons) made PournyCHRISTOPHE POURNY FURNITURE TONIC - ESSENTIAL OIL SCENTED! a household name beyond the cloistered crowd of Park & 5th Avenue that already had his number.

A recent profile by NYC&G Magazine has his studio buzzing with a few new projects. That's in addition to his usual list of well heeled seasonal cients getting weekend houses ready.  You know those Hampton houses have to be in perfect condition before Memorial Day!  Click around now - these tonics will get you all ready for the guests headed your way this Summer.

CHRISTOPHE POURNY FURNITURE TONIC

CHRISTOPHE POURNYFrench Artisan and Antique Restoration Specialist Christophe Pourny has just launched the first furniture care product from his famed Dumbo, Brooklyn studio.  Pourny has had a loyal following for years from the finest interior designers and their well-heeled clients throughout the U.S.   Known for his excellence in French Polish and fine CHRISTOPHE POURNY FURNITURE TONICrestoration skills, Pourny has used this tonic formula on studio projects for over a decade.    Martha Stewart fans also know Christophe from his appearances on the show, sharing furniture care tips and techniques with Martha.

The furniture tonic is made from all natural and organic ingredients such as Linseed and Walnut Oils.   Essential oils from Rosemary and Lavender gives the formula a scent of Provence, and pure beeswax shavings are added to every bottle.RUE JACOB "SPIN TABLE" - CHRISTOPHE POURNY STUDIO

Saturday Shopping with Christophe Pourny

New York Antique Restoration Specialist Christophe Pourny is featured this week in the coveted "Saturday Shopping" section on www.1stdibs.com. As most of my readers know, 1st dibs is the premiere shopping site for antique and period furniture, estate jewelry, and now vintage fashion.   The brainchild of founder Michael Bruno, 1st dibs has a loyal following that stretches from Dallas to Dubai!   What better way to browse the collections of the worlds most discriminating eyes.  Especially when you can do it in your bathrobe, having your first cup of coffee.Modele Rue Jacob Mirror - Christophe Pourny

Saturday Shopping is a weekly feature on 1st dibs that showcases the favorite picks of new listings from an industry expert, this week- Christophe Pourny.

It is a busy time for Christophe Pourny Studio.   Just last month, Pourny saw the first model in his new furniture collection hung in ID Collection in Dallas & Houston.   "Modele Rue Jacob" is a beautiful example of high gloss black lacquer, featuring 18k gold leaf.   A wonderfully proportioned mirror that is regal and modern at the same time.   Architectural Digest - November 2009

If that weren't enough, Pourny's work is also featured in the November issue of Architectural Digest.   The issue has Michael Jackson on the cover, as the magazine gives you a look inside Jackson's strange world and his large furniture collection.    While Pourny's work is featured in the story on NY designer Marjorie Shushan, coincidentally, Pourny had done some work for Michael Jackson in the late 90's when Jackson had an apartment in Trump Tower.  The issue is on newsstands now, and you can go "Saturday Shopping" any day with Christophe at www.1stdibs.com.
