BOLD MOVES IN 2017 - A SIGN OF THE TIMES?
MORE MIDAS TOUCH - Designers say "Stay Gold"
2017 has started with a bang, or a Gong, depending how you look at it. With each passing day, I can't help but think more and more of the 80's styling - and those iconic films that celebrated the style. Think Bonfire of the Vanities, American Psycho, and of course Wall Street. From all accounts the current President would probably agree with Gordon Gekko and his mantra #GreedIsGood. Considering there are already new floor to ceiling GOLD drapes in the oval office - I'm guessing GOLD and BLING will find their ways back on runways and interiors in no time. It will become a reference point for designers - regardless if they are mocking it or loving it. After all, in a way - people are to fashion designers what canvases are to artists. For clients that can make a statement - you've got bold choices for her in-store now and on the way!

Without a doubt, 2017 is already a year that WOMEN around the world have made their voices heard. Through political protests in cities across the globe, the power of women united is starting to be recognized as a force to be reckoned with. the fashion world has always been a celebration of strong women. Be it through celebrating the female form via design - or by the countless female icons that have shaped this great industry. Wanda Ferragamo is such a woman, and such a force. As the matriarch of one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, her unwavering determination of celebrating Salvatore's design ideals for decades after his death has made Salvatore Ferragamo the iconic brand it is. Italian design stands for impeccable quality and craftsmanship and there is no greater example than every category in a Ferragamo boutique.
One shoe that celebrates Italian craftsmanship, and at the same time, reminds us of Salvatore's timeless design are the Mosaic Pumps in Black or Saddle Brown. FLATTERED I'M SURE
When I enjoying the reviews of Spring 2017 shows, I found one item that really make me do a double take. The dynamic duo known as Proenza Schouler are a bright spot in a rather dim assortment of runway collections coming out of NY in recent years. The duo of Jack & Lazaro have a creative message and are drawn to ethnic and indigenous inspirations. One shoe they are showing for Spring however has an uncanny resemblance to a Ferragamo shoe on the runway not that long ago. What do you think? Flattering, right?
