MARCH IN LIKE A LION - FASHION ROARS IN 2014!
The world of designer fashion has so much in common with the weather this Winter - every day it seems to change! The media is promoting the pale pastels of Spring with knit tops and pleated skirts just as the Fall shows hit the runways in NY, Milan, & Paris with bold autumnal colors that pack a punch. Be ready for questions about Spring and Fall in the same visit. Take this opportunity to celebrate all the positive press that is everywhere on the internet - highlight the Fall 2014 collection as you sell Spring bags, shoes, and skirts right off the shelves.
For Fall 2014, Massimiliano Giornetti brought LUXURY front and center. From head to toe, there is a legacy of detail in knits, tweeds, and leathers. Like the leather trimmed wool ponchos that Vogue Magazine declared are " the blanket like cover-ups that are gaining traction as next Winter's alternative to a coat". Vogue started the review by pointing out that "Everyone who matters in fashion was there to see what he would come up with for fall". THAT IS HUGE!
There are dresses made from countless ribbons, sewn with golden threads, beautifully tailored jackets and skirts, and slinky knitwear that will be at home under tailoring or out on the town. With a color palette of black, coffee brown, chocolate, sand, and camel - mixed with brick red, amber grey, and bronze - the sensual combinations will flatter any well heeled shopper.
Once again, Massimiliano struck the perfect balance between the conservative sophisticate who collects classics and the fashion forward shopper that wants the latest trend on the runway. Add to all the gorgeous dresses, coats, and knits are handbags and boots that has every fashion blogger and editor wishing they could wear them today! Platform sandals and with tights, riding boots that can drive you anywhere. The Fall runway also saw the launch of the Fiamma Bag. This soon to be classic shape named in honor of Fiamma Ferragamo is a modern bag with strong hardware and soft lines - making it a special addition to every woman's wardrobe. From Calfskin to Alligator there is a Fiamma bag across the price points. Get ready for powerful editorial - Fall 2014 is going to be a blockbuster.
OFF THE SHELVES
Fall 2014 will come in like a lion, but Spring 2014 is as beautiful as a delicate lamb. The soft palette of Spring is feminine, delicate, and just plain pretty. Editorial after editorial is celebrating the glamour of 50's style photoshoots that are styled with soft curls and blush makeup. It's a feminine storyline, so pick a shape and a shade to flatter her.
LEGACY OF LUXURY
For the richest women in the world, finding something to wear involves more than looking through the racks in a boutique. For this small group of privledged ladies, trips to New York, Milan, and Paris for custom made - everything is just a part of life. This month, Town & Country Magazine chose 12 designers to showcase the modern face of Couture today - looks to flatter and flaunt - whatever her fancy.
Salvatore Ferragamo graces the pages alongside Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Carolina Herrera and the biggest names in fashion for a look at todays one-of-a-kind fashion that never hangs in a boutique. Massimiliano showcased a custom made creation from the Annenberg collection from Los Angeles. Laced silk satin that hugs the body, in a design that celebrates the art of the custom made gown. For most, these looks are purely fantasy - what an honor for Salvatore Ferragamo to be in this dream.
FERRAGAMO TIME
When an accessory is popular, it gets photographed for an editorial in a fashion magazine. When an accessory is MAJOR, it gets photographed in all the magazines! Pale pink is key for Spring and Harper's Bazaar and Elle Magazines both celebrate the NUDE color palette in March with Ferragamo at the center of it all! The soft color combined with the structured shape make this bag wonderfully neutral to wear with so many different looks. Remember that nude, pink, and light beige can be ultra sophisticated when worn back to chocolate brown, mauve, or another shade of pink. The difference with "pink" as a current trend is we are seeing it much more neutral than in years past. It's a layered look as opposed to just one shot of a hot color - like red. With the pink / beige/ nude stories, it's like painting a picture - or arranging a bouquet - you add and add until the balance is just right. As we can see in both Harper's Bazaar and Elle - sometimes it is ok to match your bag to your shoes - (just don't make it a habit).
Celebrate pretty this Spring!
