HEATING UP WINTER WITH SPRING 2011!

FERRAGAMO TIME

Salvatore Ferragamo was, as we all know, as innovative as he was creative.  FERRAGAMO RAFFIA & CORK WEDGE - CIRCA 1943 During WWII Mr. Ferragamo famously incorporated non-traditional materials when leather and exotic skins were impossible to find.  When other designers were forced to close their business due to lack of raw materials, Ferragamo looked at the situation as a creative challenge.  Raffia and Cork were two of the elements that would become a staple not only in the Ferragamo collection, but for fashion designers around the world.   Today, collections incorporate natural fibers in many different accessories.  One very special handbag in our Spring 11 Collection is the raffia multi-colored Soft W bag. RAFFIA SOFT W - TOWN & COUNTRY - FEB 2011  The W bag itself was one of the most iconic new handbags launched in the industry last year.    Re-styled for Spring in rafia as an homage to Mr. Ferragamo and his original use of the fiber.   The hand woven craftsmanship is something to mention when selling this bag.   There is an organic feel to these bags that feature natural fibers.  Fashion editors officiallyRAFFIA SOFT W- C694-470-357- $2,750.00 selected these materials as a trend for Spring as it fits right into the 70's feel of "Boho Chic" that is the major fashion magazines.  In fact,  Town & Country Magazine has an excellent editorial of the Soft W in Raffia in the February 2011 issue.   Ferragamo is in perfect company with Hermes, Gucci, Etro, & Missoni in a focus on handcrafted detail.
