You don't know the name - but you know the face - trust me.   That is unless you don't own a tv, but I'm assuming most of you do.  Stephanie Courtney is an actress that has been keeping her nose to the grind in LA for over 10 years.   She is a member of the famous Groundlings comedy group in Los Angeles.  While Stephanie has had guest appearances on many shows from Mad Men to Kath & Kim, but her most memorable role to date is the now in heavy rotation commercials for Progressive  insurance.   That's right, Stephanie is the quirky salesgirl / host / spokesperson "FLO" with the "big, tricked out name tag" in those hysterical commercials.   Her offbeat sense of humor steals the show in every ad.   Keep an eye out for her on the big screen sometime soon.  

Full disclosure - I grew up with Stephanie and witnessed her first forays into acting in middle school.   It was obvious from those days that Stephanie was headed somewhere special!

Marc Jacobs was one of many to cancel their holiday party due to the "bad economy".  So lame.   How many years were the same brands rolling in record profits?  Business partner Robert Duffy made a short statement saying "we hope we can have it next year".   Marc Jacobs Holiday party paid for itself with all the free press for months after - due to the celeb scene and Jacob's outrageous costumes.  Not such a Happy Holiday message Mr. Duffy.   This was uncharacteristically "corporate" of you.

 No, not really!  That would be the NY Post headline to accompany these pictures.  In reality the little huts were  brought to Madison Square Park courtesy of Japanese Artist Tadashi Kawamata and a City Parks program that brings Art to the masses.   The artist said the idea was to show how bringing a private thing into a public space changes both..Deep!  On a lighter note, I hear Donald Trump wants to buy the houses and lease them to the Squirrels that are already moving in!

I mean COME ON!!!  Is there any hotter actress right now on the planet??  As if Angelina mystique wasn't attractive enough when she was single - remember.. mysterious, edgy, .. a bit off kilter ... then enter Brad Pitt.   HELLO! They are insane together.   She went from girl on the edge to Sexiest mother on the planet!

Run, don't walk to see the new issue of W magazine.   You know, the one that has Angelina breast feeding on the cover!  Not to mention, entire photo spread was shot by Brad!   I can't take it.  They make movies, they give millions to charity, they have as many kids as the Brady Bunch... and the ones they make themselves.. are just too gorgeous.    I don't know what Jennifer Aniston ever did to deserve this Karmic WHACK - but its the kind that just keeps on kicking!

With the proposed tax cuts for those earning less than $250K, you will have more funds available to frequent a cool store like Triple 5 Soul on Lafayette Street just south of Houston (or a department store near you).  555 Soul was founded in Brooklyn 10 years ago and was really ahead of the curve for urban street fashion.  The brand has evolved to a very cool, hip collection with a full range of categories for men and women.

It  used to be politically incorrect for retailers to get involved Politically - but this year is different.   Obama has become more of a movement!
