Holiday shopping for the guy in your life? While you could say there has never been more designer merchandise and retail options out there, sometimes shopping for guys can be a challenge. It can be all about extremes and leave you feeling like you are shopping for your dad - or your sister! Where to go for the guy who is neither ultra conservative or a fashionista? I have a few suggestions that I think you will like - and he will love.
HUNTER BOOTS
This classic brand has had a rebirth in the last few years and it is on fire! Every major department store is sure to stock several options of these cool rubber boots. With a thick pair of socks, these BORMIO boots can go just about anywhere! They are masculine, functional, and not over designed. Just enough style to show you care, but not too much that you're afraid to get mud on them. Priced at $150.00 they are also a great gift item for any guy in your life! Find them at the Limelight Marketplace in NYC or Neiman Marcus around the country. Also, click Nordstrom- for another great style - the "Original Short" Rain boot. Or course the company still has those amazing Original Tall Wellington Boots for guys AND gals!
Modern Anthology in *DUMBO, Brooklyn is the coolest Men's store you will find in New York. Interesting items that range from clothing and leather goods made locally, to vintage flasks and horn magnifying glasses sourced all over the place! There are even some great furniture pieces that complete the whole story. Worth the trip to Brooklyn, but the team will also work with you over the phone. In fact, Modern Anthology is so much more than a retail store. A sort of collective, the team works with everyone from interior designers to ad-agency creatives. Oh, and while the store is technically "Men's", there are a hundred things any gal would want in her apartment as well.
