Summer is such a fun time of year. Every weekend is a potential adventure. If you live in a city, there are concerts, and shows. Plus all the great restaurants are half as crowded. If you live in the country, there are farm stands and cocktails at sunset. At the beach, there are always garden parties and fireworks. With all this coming and going, it's hard to plan a weekend wardrobe! In the Summer season, killer accessories are so important - maybe more than any other time. That pair of shoes, or handbag that helps you pull together so many outfits. Get her into something metallic, something bright, and then something neutral. Any fashionable woman should be able to make that big entrance, or slide under the radar - depending on her mood. Not every day is a RED CARPET entrance. But not every night is a "table in the back please" either. It's all about options.
There are HOT looks coming from the Fall 2015 runway collection. Even Harper's Bazaar couldn't resist featuring a Fall runway shoe in their "Summer Suiting" feature on-line and in the June issue. I can't blame them - these heels are hot! Priced at $1,950.00 these shoes are serious, but they work in any playful setting as well. Using gold and silver together is also a great Summer look that can be sophisticated, but less stoic than just black. These heels worn with a sky blue jumpsuit - amazing! A small metallic clutch and these heels would turn just about any dress, pant and blouse, or jumpsuit / cover-up into " a look".
The Fall collections from Europe were full of vibrant, colorful statements. With color blocking, geometric / graphic design, and red hot accessories that are burning up blogs around the world.
Three of the hottest looks featured on Style.com after the Fall shows took color blocking and geometric prints to another level. Salvatore Ferragamo, Christian Dior, and Loewe are three of the hottest looks. Once again, Massimiliano Giornetti has his finger on the pulse of what a luxury fashion house should be offering their well-heeled clients should be wearing next season.
What these runway exits show is that the color blocking and geometric prints on trend for Fall will be seen on skirts, pants, tunics, coats, and more. This is a major trend for Fall, one so big that it will be a trend to invest in. Find the silhouette that flatters your best customer and help create her plan of action. If you can bring in Salvatore Ferragamo ready-to-wear for her - that is fantastic. If not, start with a great Ferragamo shoe, handbag, and belt. Once you have these chosen, start looking for that tunic, skirt, dress, or leggings that can give her the style of Fall 2015 runway. At first it can seem like an intense use of color, but these looks can be very flattering. They are smart and powerful, which is sexy on a whole other level. *Note the mix of color at Loewe - bright green somehow works with coral, gray, and yellow.
When we talk about luxury, exotic handbags are still on the short list of items that first come to mind. Especially for those who can own an exotic handbag created in Europe, where the finest raw materials are crafted from the most experienced artisan hands in the industry. The patchwork exotic flap shoulder bag seen on the Fall runway is already one of the hottest looks of the season. There will be very few of these bags produced. The are exclusive and limited, yet the press attention the bag will receive by September will be massive. Start talking to any client who might be investing in an exotic bag this year. This would be in the category of a "Long-Lead" special occasion purchase. Birthday, Anniversary, Career Goal, etc. * keep in mind that exotic price points well into the 20K-25K range has become a regular offer at many luxury houses.
If your client would never spend that range on a bag - ok - create the look with something much more affordable. Choose a color from the patchwork - one of the rich autumnal shades, or chocolate brown. A detailed silk scarf like the brown Anemone for Fall can bring so much sophistication to a very simple handbag.
I've been dreaming of Summer for months, but the thought of Fall just got a little bit warmer once again.
