As I've written before, August is a month of contradictions. While it is the height of Summer for most, there are many who are already planning their busy Fall schedule. People with children already have one foot in the classroom, those of college age also - outfitting dorm rooms at any moment. While the wealthiest shoppers used to be one step removed from their children's every need - today's parents are more interested and more involved than at any time in recent memory (possibly more than ever before in history). This might make getting her attention more difficult when the kids are calling, or set the stage for the perfect mother / daughter shopping experience!
OFF THE SHELVES
One of the strongest looks from the runway this season is Exit #5 and the look was chosen by Harper's Bazaar as one of the key trends of the season. Actually two trends in one. Metallics and Cozy knitwear. This Mohair knit was shown over the Metallic knit dress. both pieces stand on their own. The knit dress is a great take away item that can be rolled up and packed in a flash. Dressed up with jewelry and accessories, or taken more casual with flats, the color palette will flatter most skin tones and hair colors.
For Fall 2014 your boutique can be the place for mothers and daughters ( or mothers and sons) to shop for the Fall Semester. Salvatore Ferragamo has the sex appeal and sophistication to dress women of all ages. At a recent Fall preview, a 14 year old girl convinced her mother to buy her a pair of black stilettos! Granted this girl was not your average 14 year old, but she was a true fashion fan and she was excited to see all the latest designs that had just arrived in the boutique. Ferragamo was not some historic reference or just her "Mother's favorite" to this girl - it was RED ZONE FASHION all the way! Mother and daughter both shopped. Mom looked at runway samples, while daughter was all about her first pair of high heels!
One hot trend for Fall - Oxblood / Burgundy / Plum - whatever you call it, - COPPER at Ferragamo, this deep dark shades of red and purple are seductive, chic, and a great neutral color that works with Black, White, and most colors in-between. Perfect for day or evening there are shoes, bags, and RTW to carry this trend into the Fall and beyond.
*Stop and smell the flowers whenever possible. A total cliche, but as relevant and accurate as can be. Fresh flowers in a fashion boutique is the perfect way to complement handcrafted fashion items made in Italy. One of Mother Nature's most beautiful creations set against some of man's finest crafts. ** Find out what your best client's favorite flower is. That way, when you need to send a birthday or thank-you - you'll know just what to choose. **
In addition to the global sensation that the FIAMMA handbag is causing, there is another bag already in print as one of Fall's hottest looks. Harper's Bazaar chose the "ELIDE" COPPER Doctor's Bag for their "Chic In The Street" story. Paired with a luxurious shearling, Harper's gave us one great suggestion for how to wear this versatile bag. With modern and innovative Gancio designed top handles, magnetic closured hidden pocket, and top zippers providing a large opening, this bag is as useful as it is fashionable. This might be the chicest overnight bag every made!
OFF THE RUNWAY
The Fall 2014 Runway collection is so many things. A celebration of Italian craftsmanship, a trend-setting statement, and a celebration of an iconic fashion house sitting on top of the world!
With Fall runway, Ferragamo has truly entered the world of elite RTW shoppers. When luxury clients will effortlessly reserve $5,000.00 dresses with a credit card - you know this is high fashion. A stylish husband and wife did just that in Beverly Hills two weeks ago at the Fall Preview. The couple know the brand well and found themselves on Rodeo drive the same weekend as the Trunk Show. While looking over the fine details of these runway creations, not one, but two dresses caught her eye. This fashionable shopper recognized one dress from the sexy Fall campaign. Her husband was as excited as she was when she emerged from the dressing room - almost perfect samples size - she was gorgeous. The fine embroidered details of the silk satin melange of metallic, beige and black -along with the classic 20's style of runway exit #33 took everyones breath away! Hearing the dress cost $5,190.00 the couple didn't bat an eyelash - clearly the fine craftsmanship spoke for itself. The couple also fell in love with Exit #15 and also reserved this $5,000.00 black dress! The dresses and the Made In Italy craftsmanship made quite an impression on these luxury shoppers. Combined with the first class customer service they received in the Beverly Hills boutique, this husband and wife had an experience we can all be proud of.
Having just launched a week ago - the Fall Trunk show website - www.Trunkshow.Ferragamo.com features the runway collection of course, and exit 33 is featured prominently. Genevieve Jones is a fashionable New Yorker who is photographed wherever she goes. Her style has been chronicled on blogs, in the fashion magazines, and Ms. Jones animates this runway exit with grace.
*Use the trunk show website to spread the word about runway previews and the high level of craftsmanship that clients can expect from Salvatore Ferragamo Ready-To-Wear.*
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe chose Ferragamo runway booties to showcase trends of the Fall season. Zoe recommends mixing masculine / biker detailing back to feminine and frilly dresses to balance the energy. Tone it down, or rev it up this Fall!
Summer is still here, but you are so ready to plan her wardrobe for the months to come. It's all about options and mixing textures, tones, and tailoring.
