IN THE PRESS
Press reaction to The Fiamma keeps coming in a big way this July! Fireworks started the month, and Fiamma editorials are creating quite a sparkle of their own. Vogue & Town & Country - two legendary fashion publications feature the Fiamma in beautiful full page photos in July & August.
Vogue's July issue with actress Lupita Nyong'o as their covergirl is one of the strongest issues the magazine has published in recent memory. From the front to back cover (Michelle Williams for LV - another strong campaign) - the issue is a must buy for anyone who follows designer fashion.
The Fiamma Mini in tweed and crystal is the perfect accessory for the RAZZLE DAZZLE - "What to wear where" story beautifully shot by Karim Sadli, and modeled by the stunning Sasha Pivovarova Paired with a charm embellished Celine dress, the Fiamma Mini is sexy and mysterious. The bag can add sparkle to even the most understated / simple dress. The article suggest monochromatic pairings as a way to wear sequins and sparkles in the Summer. Other handbags featured - Dior, Roger Vivier, & Dolce & Gabbana. This Summer...."Shine bright like a diamond".
TOWN & COUNTRY MAGAZINE devotes a full page in the August 2014 issue to showcase a calfskin FIAMMA, the legacy of Fiamma Ferragamo, and princess Melusine Ruspoli - brand ambassador of the Fiamma project. Her family legacy, like that of the Ferragamo family, is at it's core an Italian Legacy.
The strength of the Fiamma handbag is the range of women that can wear the bag, and wear it can be worn. Having the Fiamma featured in calfskin and python (Town & Country) and tweed and crystal (Vogue) on newstands at the same time is amazing publicity for this iconic new bag! Suggest the bag, and a shoe that showcases her style today.
The August issue of Town & Country is also one of the strongest issues in recent months. Actress Dakota Fanning skews a younger audience than the traditional T&C cover girls - making this a fantastic issue to be featured in!
ON TREND
While most of us are thinking bathing suits and beach towels, the most important fashion magazines around the world are featuring Fall 2014's "Hottest" looks. One major trend that Massimiliano Giornetti helped solidify for Fall - Earth tone Chunky Knits and Metallics. Copper, Steel, and Gold all mix and mingle for Fall. These styles are warm - but the look is cool - to say the least. Vogue, Elle, and just about every magazine is featuring this knit trend now as the Fall previews begin. Some embroidered, some just luxurious yarns - all in limited quantities - all items to collect.
While the trend can be styled to extreme on the runway or in editorials, this is a look almost every boutique client can wear.
STYLE IN TRAINING
Speaking of a trend that everyone can love - Sport - Sreetwear - Trainers - Sneakers - there are so many names for the shoes that were created to be the most casual of all shoes - that have now arrived front and center on fashion runways and in boutiques from California to Capri.
Sneakers are all the rage in Women's fashion. A trend that has been strong in Menswear for years is now all over the runways. To be fair - Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton helped bring this look to the mainstream designer world. Karl Lagerfeld was the designer to take it to the top - being the first to show tweed trainers on the CHANEL Haute Couture runway last Fall. As often is the case, Karl then featured the look in the Spring RTW Collections.. and now on the Fall Runway as well.
To drive the point home, the WSJ Magazine featured a major shoot dedicated to Haute Couture and sneakers - the ultimate high / low statement. Of course Salvatore Ferragamo has history with high-tops - they have been popular in the men's collection for several seasons. It's exciting to see them in the Women's collection! **THE STYLE ATTRACTS A NEW CLIENT BASE.**
Wearable, luxurious, and priced comfortably from $550.00 to$625.00. Elsewhere fashion sneakers are retailing for $975.00 and $1,200.00 - In fact - the sneaker might be one of the most luxurious items we have seen in years. After all, it's a shoe made with a sole that cannot be repaired. Once it wears down - it's done. lt is an ironic fact for a style that was originally created as the most casual, now coveted like a fine, rarified piece. In fact - it is.
With the dramatic range in styles that are arriving in the boutique week after week, feel empowered with all the options you can present to clients. A large collection is also a luxury. It's easy to forget the Salvatore Ferragamo collection more styles and skus than many competitors combined. More options than ever are in style for Fall 2014!
