The Holidays are officially over! New Year's Even has faded into the distance and luxury fashion clients can start to plan that Spring wardrobe. While planning ahead, saavy shoppers find last minute items still left in the boutique. In warmer states it's all about wear now, and in colder states it's all about "I'll wear it in" St. Bart's, Bermuda, Naples, or Zihautanejo. Wherever clients are heading, the Ferragamo Resort and Spring Collections have just the items she needs to be fashionably casual this Winter.
OFF THE SHELVES
One item every woman should have in her closet is a great go-to jacket for Resort/Spring. A great linen or cotton piece that can take her from lunch in a warm city setting paired with a cashmere scarf, or worn over her shoulders to dinner on a cruise as the finishing touch. Help your clients put together a head-to-toe look when she is trying on any jacket or blazer. While she might be hesitant to try on pants, give her options in the dressing room so she can see just how versatile the jacket can be. Don't under estimate the effect a great pair of clean cut pants can have! Finding a pair in a matching color can put many ladies at ease. Like it or not, most want a matching option back to any items they buy. Navy is flattering to most skin tones. The timeless look of crisp Navy and white can take her anywhere. Suggest a menswear tailored jacket to the next client looking at RTW. If you don't have RTW in your boutique, don't hesitate to start the conversation about the trend this Resort season. Any fashion clients will appreciate your advice on what to wear this season.
LEGACY OF LUXURY
Winter has just arrived, but the fashion flock are all crazy for red hot color from the Spring Collections! Massimiliano shook things up with an over the top display of color, print, and retro style that lit up the Spring runway. Be prepared to introduce at least one brightly colored handbag, shoe, or piece of RTW to every fashion client you know. In fact, Spring 2012 is the perfect season to find her that one item of printed RTW, that one statement bag, and that one shoe that ties it all together. It is all about balance. Notice that while the RTW and accessory collections make a statement with bright colors and detailed prints, Spring 12 shoes are simple and sexy - letting clean lines showcase the foot. Of course some of these items from runway are available in very limited quantities, but use them as a guide when introducing something NOT already in her closet at home! Think color - as Teal, Magenta, and every shade in between will dominate this Spring / Summer.
FERRAGAMO TIME
Red carpets and Ferragamo are a match made in Hollywood Heaven! Since Salvatore first cast a spell on the leading ladies of stage and screen in the 1920's - Hollywood starlets have worn Ferragamo. In the beginning, it was just shoes. Then came clothing, handbags - and never forget menswear! This Winter Ferragamo is all over the Red Carpet. One big endorsement came at a movie premiere in the Fall. Mexican actress Salma Hayek was stunning in Resort Exit 12 at the "Puss In Boots" premiere as she worked the carpet with costar Antonio Banderas. Hayek is married to Francois-Henri Pinault aka Mr. PPR. If that name is not familiar - think Gucci. That's right, Mr. Pinault is the CEO of PPR Group (The owners of Gucci, Stella McCartney, etc) and the son of Francois, the Founder of the company. To say that Salma Hayek has her chose of about a dozen designer collections is an understatement. **The fact that she chose Ferragamo for her premiere - more proof of just how hot this collection is in 2011/12!
Speaking of Red Carpets. Regardless if she is on set in Venice or at a star studded premiere, there are few women more gorgeous and captivating than Angelina Jolie. Just over a week ago in New York, Angelina kept it sleek and sexy in head to toe Ferragamo. Even when she is toning it down - Angelina steals the show!
The 69th annual Golden Globes were a fashion bonanza. While there has been much talk about the fashion misses, Angelina and Brad Pitt were the evenings best dressed couple by far! Jolie was other worldly in Atelier Versace (Versace's version of Couture) and Brad Pitt was Mr. Elegant in Salvatore Ferragamo! Angelina was on trend for the evening by wearing ivory silk charmeuse accented by a shot of red. Overall it was a night of Navy, Burgundy, and some pale pastels and creams. Sweet Dreams!
